Stranger Video

A few days ago a new video appeared on a new Bad Robot YouTube channel

So what links this video to the book ?

Well really there is nothing concrete to go on, apart from one element, this has been reported on a few websites including this one from BleedingCool.com. The font used for the caption at the end of the video appears to be the same as the one used on the original promotional banner at the Book Bloggers Conference in Book Expo America, see our first overview post for more details of that.

The video itself deals with a person emerging from the sea as if he has been washed ashore from sort of shipwreck, the camera then focuses on the face of a man who's lips appear to have been sewn together, quite loosely, but a fairly gruesome sight all the same.

The narrator of the video tells a small story, a transcript of which is -

He arrived knowing nothing of himself, who is he, soon you will know, because what begins at the water shall end there, and what ends there shall once more begin. This is what happens, men become lost, men vanish, men are erased and reborn.

The video ends with a caption in the distinctive font and parts disappear until only the word "Soon" remains.

Soon he will know

Soon he will

Soon will

Soon

So if you have any more theories on this as to why it is linked to the book or just want to discuss it's contents then please comment away.

  1. Thank for creating yet another place for us to play. The postcard and the video are very different in marketing styles, they seem disconnected somehow, save the word and image reference to Amazon (pun, pre-sale of book). The S. has been linked to a name and can be heard video audio whispers (via Unfiction Forum, if you want to know).

I believe that the man carrying the torch with sewn lips is finding the man in the water. ? That's how I see it.

    1. Yes you could be right about the man with the torch, I couldn't quite square the man coming from the ocean suddenly finding a torch on the beach.

    2. I've updated the description so it is more generic.

  3. Postcard seems to be from person looking for something in Brazil (information?), and video describes man with amnesia -probably looking for his identity. So maybe.

JJ says book is "scary"- I'd bet that is stitchy guy!
